Climate change and nature loss are the existential challenges of our time.
New Zealand has the highest species extinction rate in the world; our ocean is under threat from rising sea temperatures and overfishing; and we’re grappling with ever more increasing and costly climate-related natural disasters.
If we do not act now, the costs of these threats will span generations.
Our Briefing to the Incoming Government sets out WWF-New Zealand's three priorities:
- Halting and reversing nature loss;
- Ensuring a thriving ocean for future generations;
- Putting nature at the heart of climate action.
Our new Government must put climate change and nature loss front of mind and take bold action to protect our environment for the next generation.
